Perpetrators of the mythMany people have helped to create and maintain the myth of subversive Satanism. Some have become perpetrators of the myth because of religious beliefs, others because of an adherent to conspiracy theories. Some got caught in by the myth because of sincere concern for children and adults, who where believed to suffer the consequences of ritual abuse. Some of the perpetrators have come to se The Satanic Panic for what it is: a moral panic. Most have moved on to other topics or disappeared into oblivion, but others continue to hold on to and perpetrate old beliefs. In some cases it has been too hard to admit mistakes, or the belief in subversive satanic conspiracies, have been too rooted in people’s general worldview. The list below is not a full list of the perpetrators of the myth, or even a list of the worst perpetrators.
